MASTER IN FASHION, RETAIL MANAGEMENT & MERCHANDISING - MIFAR

The Master's degree in Fashion, Retail Management & Merchandising - MIFAR is designed to train expert retail managers & merchandisers who can successfully manage brands within the fashion and luxury sectors. This highly multidisciplinary master's degree blends theoretical knowledge with practical expertise, equipping students with the skills necessary to navigate the complexities of the industry.

The program, co-designed with Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana to meet the specific needs of leading brands, focuses on the development of specific project management skills related to the fashion design process, complementing the essential aspects of product management.

Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the design, management, and communication skills necessary to guide brands and products from the creative conception stage all the way to production, marketing, and market launch, successfully responding to the dynamic demands of the global fashion market.

Master: 1st level University Master accredited through Università della Campania Luigi Vanvitelli as formal academic qualifications in accordance with the standards set by the Italian Ministry of Education.

Duration of the Master: 1 year, 1200 hours 

Selection Process: from March 1st, 2025

Starting date of lectures: Jan 12, 2026

Internship: from Oct, 2026 

Location: BY PRESENCE on campus, Milan. Our programs are available in a blended format, combining both in-person and online learning to offer flexibility while maintaining an engaging, hands-on experience.

Director of the Master 2024/25: Olivia Spinelli, Academic Advisor 

Olivia Spinelli è una professionista esperta con oltre 25 anni di esperienza nell'industria della moda. Dopo aver conseguito la laurea in Fashion Design e Management presso l'Università di Urbino, ha iniziato la sua carriera come fashion designer, collaborando con importanti maison italiane come Dolce & Gabbana (linea D & G), Versace (collezione VERSUS donna), Romeo Gigli e Gianfranco Ferré.

Dal 2008, Olivia gestisce il proprio studio di design, creando collezioni e offrendo consulenze a brand di primo piano, tra cui HTC, Lorena Antoniazzi, Levi's, I Pinco Pallino, La Perla e Dirk Bikkembergs. Ha inoltre diretto il dipartimento di Fashion Design presso IED Moda, insegnando corsi di Fashion Design e Progetti Finali. Dal 2016 al 2024, ha ricoperto il ruolo di Direttore Artistico per sfilate ed eventi e di Responsabile di IED Moda, supervisionando oltre 1.200 studenti all'anno.

Oltre alla sua attività di fashion designer, Olivia ha contribuito al mondo teatrale, disegnando costumi per compagnie come Compagnia della Fortezza, Motus e Kataklo Dance Company.
